Coffee is one of the most widely consumed products in the world. And Americans LOVE our coffee so much we’ve invented countless ways to roast, grind, brew and consume it. And there are more and more ways to market the country’s (and the world’s) favorite caffeinated beverage. But while big coffee franchises like Starbucks may have the big ad money to reach millions on television, the internet, and print ads, what about small coffee shop owners and coffee roasters?
If you own a coffee company of any kind, here are a few creative ways to get some buzz going about your beans. Coffee buzz meets BannerBuzz!
First order of business, get your products and services on point. Obviously – and we hope you’ve done your due diligence here – you need to be making or selling an EXCELLENT product. Whether you are a roaster or a coffee shop buying from a roaster or a retail store with a coffee section, don’t settle. Your product is half of your marketing, and word of mouth still plays a huge role in selling your product.
The second key factor is providing services. This is specifically for coffee shop owners, where customers come to have a cup or three of coffee and also hang out for a while. And you obviously want them to stay, because when they stay, they buy more. The best way to keep them there and coming back is to offer services like free wifi, an area for pets if possible, and of course, convenient parking!
Target Your Demographic Online
There is no excuse these days not to take advantage of social media and Google to reach potential customers in your area. This is where food and beverage brands have a huge opportunity to create a brand image and advertise on a very low budget. Get on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat and take a look at what your competitors are doing online. Don’t let them get ahead of you when online advertising is so easy!
Don’t Forget to Target Your Demographic Offline, Too
Not all of our connections to customers are online, even if it feels that way sometimes. But if you own a brick and mortar, you spend a lot of face time with your clientele. Get to know them in person, and understand their preferences. If you know you draw a mostly young crowd, make sure your advertising reflects that. If your customers are more mature, your advertising should be as well.
Take a look at our design templates to get a feel for what is possible with affordable, professional-quality signs, posters, window decals, and banners of all sizes.
